Help children connect number words, written numerals, and real quantities with these counting objects 1-10 worksheets. This collection offers ten black-and-white activities that move from matching small groups to writing totals, coloring requested amounts, and drawing missing objects. A separate colorful cover introduces the workbook.
Choose a page that matches the learner’s current confidence. A child who can count a small group aloud may begin with matching or circling, while a learner ready to record answers can try the write-in pages. The activities suit supported preschool and kindergarten practice; they do not require children to read every direction independently.
01. Count and Match 1–5
Start with small groups of apples, a butterfly, stars, flowers, and fish. Children count each group and draw a line to its numeral on the right. The choices are deliberately out of order, encouraging a fresh count instead of matching by row position. Ask the learner to point to every object once before drawing a line.

02. Count and Match 6–10
This page extends matching to larger groups: eight apples, six stars, ten circles, seven hearts, and nine leaves. Learners connect each group to the correct numeral. Encourage an organized scan across each row, especially when objects appear on two lines. Children who lose track can cover the lower groups while completing one group at a time.

03. Count and Circle
Children count four different groups and circle one numeral from three choices beside each group. Apples, stars, butterflies, and leaves provide a change of picture while keeping the response simple. This activity lets you check quantity recognition without asking for handwritten numerals. Invite children to explain how they checked their selection before moving on.

04. Count and Write 1–5
Five picture groups introduce writing a total in an empty answer box. The quantities appear in a mixed order, so the learner must count the pictures rather than recite a sequence down the page. If forming a numeral is difficult, let the child say the total first and practice its shape separately before returning to the box.

05. Count and Write 6–10
Children record larger quantities using stars, apples, circles, hearts, and leaves. The circle row contains ten objects arranged in two groups of five, offering an opportunity to notice a useful structure after counting. Keep the focus on how many objects are present; a neat written response can follow an accurate spoken count.

06. Color the Right Amount
Each panel gives a requested quantity and more pictures than children need to color. Learners color three apples, five stars, seven hearts, and four leaves. They must stop at the target instead of coloring every picture. Read the directions aloud when needed and encourage a final count of only the colored objects.

07. Fill the Ten Frame
Four empty ten frames are paired with the numerals 3, 6, 8, and 10. Children draw one dot in each box they use. Each frame has two rows of five cells. Model filling a row from left to right, then invite the child to compare the filled cells and empty cells after completing a frame.

08. Find Equal Quantities
Learners count picture groups on both sides and connect groups with the same total. The matching groups use different objects and arrangements. This creates a useful conversation about quantity: three apples and three butterflies have the same count even though the pictures look different. Ask children to count both ends of a line to check a match.

09. Draw the Missing Objects
Children add drawings to reach the totals 5, 7, 6, and 10. The page starts each group with some circles, stars, or hearts already printed. Learners count those first, draw enough additional shapes, and recount the finished group. Simple outlines are sufficient; the purpose is to make the requested quantity, rather than produce detailed artwork.

10. I Can Count to Ten
The final worksheet combines familiar responses in a short review. Children count and write totals for apples and circles, circle the numeral for a row of stars, and draw ten dots in an empty ten frame. Use this page after practice to notice which response types are comfortable and which would benefit from another supported attempt.

Teaching Ideas
Begin with a few counters, blocks, or other familiar objects. Invite the child to touch or move one object for each number word, then ask how many there are altogether. Bring that same routine to the printed pictures. If the learner skips an item or counts one twice, slow down and try the group again together.
Offer one page at a time. Matching and circling allow children to show a quantity without writing it; write-in tasks add a separate recording demand. When a child gives the correct total aloud but struggles with the numeral, acknowledge the counting and provide a number model away from the answer box.
For coloring and drawing activities, ask the child to check the finished group. Counting what is already printed before adding new objects helps keep the task clear. Use the review page to guide another short practice session, rather than treating one attempt as a fixed measure of ability.

Printing and Preparation
The verified source bundle uses A4 portrait pages, approximately 210 × 297 mm. Select A4 paper in the printer dialog and check the preview before printing. If printing on US Letter, use an appropriate fit setting and check the borders; that changes the printed scale. Print the cover in color if desired and the activity pages in black and white. Have a pencil and crayons ready.
